Blogging, Free Platform or Domain Name and Webhost

Before finally deciding on whether to continue this blogging experience through the free blogging platforms available or get my own domain name and webhost,  I was thinking of the theme content to which I shall anchor my blogs on.  There were a lot of things I had in mind.  Since I was in the field of finance and taxation, I considered to niche on that.  Then there was the lure of tourism blogging so I considered that too.  There was also the topic of blogging which had always sparked interest on a lot of people, so I considered that too.  Being I cebuano, I couldn’t just disregard the aspect of showcasing the place so close to my heart so I looked on that too.  And of course, I have to consider photography as a topic too.

Deciding on whether to blog using either wordpress, blogger, or i.ph or getting my own domain was easy compared on what to blog.  I wanted my blog to not just simply tell, rather show a personality that is partly of my own self.  There are a lot of things that I wanted to share with everyone and I did not want to be encased on a single niche.  I tried doing niche blogging one my other blog but I on the process have swayed away from the concept.  It, for me, was boring and had no spontaneouity.  It seemed interesting that I talk about things that mattered to me on a personal basis.  And niching seemed to have limited my scope of the topics I talk about.  This is quite an experiment really and now that I have my own domain, I have to make the fullest of the resources that I have.
